Vikings battered by seven-up Bury

Bury St Ed's………….45

blew North Walsham away, winning by seven tries to one in a thoroughly efficient display.

Despite a heavy playing surface, they made very few errors and, but for some brave and sustained defence from the home side, could easily have scored more tries.

The deadlock was broken by the excellent George Grigg-Pettitt after 11 minutes. Bury were good at controlling possession, happy to take the ball into tackle after tackle and not afraid to move it fast down the wings or through the middle when possible.

The Vikings lost winger Wes McGuire to a soft yellow card and Bury added four more tries before half-time through Matt Bursey (2), Samir Kharbouch and Will Attfield.

The second half looked like being a repeat. A long period of controlled possession was turned into flanker Archie Bourne's first try after 51 minutes.

However, the young North Walsham side were gradually improving and, after 60 minutes, Connor Dudley's quick movement allowed him to score the home side's only try of the match.

Bury completed the scoring with Bourne's second try, Ben Penfold converting with his fifth successful kick.
