North Walsham……. 7
Westcombe P………59
NATHAN WYMAN led the way as Westcombe Park turned on the style to destroy their hosts.
In the first half, the Vikings dominated possession and field position for long periods.
But they were unable to trouble the scoreboard operator.
And then a series of excellent Westcombe Park breakouts gave them a first-half lead of 0-26 and the four-try bonus point.
The first Westcombe try came after a breakaway from the halfway line for Kierna Thompson to score. This was converted by Wyman.
After 20 minutes spent mainly in and around the Westcombe 22m line, three Westcombe tries followed in the second quarter.
These were scored by Calum Harris who, after a long kick, was driven over the line after 24 minutes.
Kareem Swandells who then driven over after a Westcombe breakout in the 30th minute, and Joseph Ratcliffe took a long pass on the 22m line to dive in and score. The second half was dominated by Westcombe Park.
In all, they scored five more tries from Toby Wallace (2), Rafael Lofinmakin-Dutta (2) and Harry Hudson.
These were answered by one Vikings try from Benji Hewitt converted by Ross Magnus. However it was an excellent performance by Westcombe Park and a chastening defeat for the Vikings.
