Blackheath………….54
Worthing……………….. 5
Blackheath ran in eight tries to trounce Worthing and maintain their perfect record for the season at Well Hall – a clean sweep of 13 bonus-point wins.
Stevie Clark-Leonard went over for the first of his two tries after 12 minutes, but Worthing kept things tight for more than half an hour, testing the defensive quality of Markus Burcham and Tom Baldwin.
Back rower Clark-Leonard claimed his second try shortly before the interval, this time from open play, and, with Lloyd trotting over out wide following great work from Andy Boye, Blackheath were 19-0 ahead at the break.
Two quick scores after the restart stamped further authority, Nick Foster sending Alex Harris on a wonderful mazy run from 40 metres out and Tom Ffitch’s grubber sitting up nicely for Burcham to collect and ground.
Luc Jeannot was driven over off a lineout and, as the outstanding Boye recovered loose ball, play swept across field for Andy Denham to cross.
Worthing broke away to get on the scoreboard through Curtis Barnes, but the final word went to Blackheath as they turned over possession and Burcham dummied over, Ffitch adding his seventh conversion.
