Bury's victory proved to be as as comprehensive as the scoreline suggests.
The visitors played crisp incisive rugby, with Patrick Robinson and Matt Bursey to the fore, winning the battle up front and retaining possession well.
Bury were soon pouring forward, and it was no surprise when Bursey crossed in the ninth minute, Charlie Reed making the first of his six conversions, three from the touchline.
Five minutes later, Will Christie nipped over and, before the game was a quarter gone, it became 21-0, as Bursey again scored.
