Bury St Edmunds.. 61 Westcliff………………..0
BURY shrugged off two defeats by West Country opposition to claim a huge victory over Westcliff.
Bury opened the scoring with a straightforward try for McCartney, which Penfold converted.
Westcliff responded positively and had a couple of opportunities of their own but Bury extended their lead with a well-worked move from a scrum resulting in a try by Greenhall.
Bury scored again as quick and accurate passing saw Watson dot down, and with the first half drawing to a close Westcliff conceded a needless penalty that Bury kicked to the corner and the visitors were powerless to stop the rampaging Stanway from crashing over in the corner.
Bury added to their total within a minute of the second half with Roper sprinting away for a try again converted by Penfold.
A clash of heads led to a lengthy delay but on the restart Grigg-Pettitt romped away for a popular score .
A turned over scrum allowed Bury enabled Affleck to sprint away for his first of the day, then Greenhall dotted down after good interaction with Hall. Then Affleck jinked his way over after receiving a ball from the dominant Bury scrum.
