TWO tries in the dying moments saved Barnes from any embarrassment, but Worthing held on to leave south-west London with a narrow well-deserved victory.
Barnes man-of-the match Rob Kirby admitted: “We probably gave them a little too much respect from the off and struggled to get into our stride in attack.”
The visitors looked strong from the start, opening the day’s scoring when centre Harrison Sims dotted down near the corner after just four minutes.
