High-flying Raiders are toppled by gutsy Lions

A GRITTY performance by Leicester Lions earned them a win over league leaders Worthing Raiders.
Lions put Raiders under pressure from the off. From a play close to the Raiders line, Lions worked the ball out to the right for full-back Alex Wilcockson to dart over for a try, with Ben Young adding the conversion.
There followed a phase of play where both sides had opportunities, but both defences held firm. Raiders had a chance near the Lions line, but a forward pass put paid to the attack.
