TONBRIDGE Juddians are top of the charts at Christmas after they ran up a cricket score to cast aside struggling Sutton & Epsom for the second time this season.
It proved to be an unlucky 13 for the visitors as they shipped what seemed like countless scores on the way to a resounding defeat, Due to substantial flooding the game was moved to TJs 3G training ground at Judd School but with conditions deemed unsafe for spectators, the decision was taken to play the match behind closed doors. Sutton & Epsom took the early lead from a penalty converted by fly-half Michael Cooke but this was as good as things got for the Surrey outfit.
TJs responded quickly and had the bonus point in the bag by the 20 minute mark after tries from Noah Ferdinand, Rory McHugh and two from Toby May. Will Robinson converted all four.
And the hosts continued in the same manner, cruising into half time 42-3 up after further tries from Charlie Edwards and Mark Davey, Robinson remaining perfect with the boot. Duncan Tout was the first to cross after the break having had two scores ruled out for forward passes in the first half.
Sutton managed to get across the whitewash through centre Jacob Knight, but it proved a solitary moment of light on an otherwise dismal day for the visitors.
Almost immediately normal service was resumed and TJs ran in further tries from Davey, Tout, Robinson, Hugo Watson and two more from Ferdinand to complete his hat-trick.
