BENETTON secured a first-ever win over with a convincing 44-20 victory at the Stade Jean Bouin.

The Italians ran in seven tries, three of which came in a tenminute period during the first half from Dewaldt Duvenage, Leonardo Sarto and Jayden Hayward.

It was 25-8 at half-time and both teams were then reduced to 14 men at the start of the second half when Stade Francais flanker Charlie Rorke and Benetton wing Sarto were shown red cards following an altercation.

Tommy Allan crossed for Benetton and then converted his own score to extend the lead to 32-8 and, although the French outfit closed the gap with tries from Laurent Panis and Adrien Lapegue, a comeback was never on the cards.

Stade Français travel to Blues next weekend, while Benetton host Agen.

Hosts Zebre took the lead within the first minute through a Junior Laloifi score, but Bayonne hit back through a Micheal Ruru try and two Manuel Ordas penalties.

Zebre led at the break after fly-half Antonio Rizzi dotted down and converted before adding a penalty in the final minute of the half to put his side 18-13 up.

Bayonne wing Remy Baget then levelled the scores with a try three minutes into the second half, before Maxime Delonca scored to put the visitors in front.

Zebre refused to be beaten though and responded through a Matteo Nocera try which was converted by Rizzi to leave the game tied at 25-25 with 15 minutes to play.

There would be no further scores though, with the sides having to settle for a draw having both held the lead at different points in the game.
