Worcester Warriors latest: Loans, cancellations, website inactive and training ‘risks’

In less than a day and half, this week has already produced more drama and chaos at Sixways as their administration continues after commencing at the beginning of the last one.

On Sunday, our column reported that three players – Ted Hill, Ollie Lawrence and Rory Sutherland – were all set to go on loan to , and the former two were confirmed early on Monday morning.

In addition to Hill and Lawrence, forwards Fergus Lee-Warner and Valeriy Morozov also left, with Diamond hoping they would return in a tweet (below).

Games cancelled, with points set to be allocated

Diamond had given his players a week off, knowing that neither last weekend's scheduled game against , nor this weekend's against , would be going ahead.

Both games have been cancelled, and will likely see the panel deciding how many points are allocated give a bonus point win to both Gloucester and Quins, and none to Warriors.

Worcester then have a bye week, and the expectation is that if they are unable to fulfil their next fixture (away at on 22 October), they will no longer participate in the season and all existing points and points difference from games played against them will be voided.

Website remains offline with no updates

Worcester's website, warriors.co.uk, has not been updated since last Monday, where the owners put out a statement on behalf of the club welcoming it going into administration.

It is not surprising to see the website not updated, given that those that work in the club's non-playing staff have still only been paid 65% of their August wages and nothing for September, but it serves as a sad reminder of the lack of activity currently going on in the offices at Sixways.

Worcester's site has not been updated since 26 September

Train ‘at your own risk'

Warriors players were given the week off last week, but with no insurance cover and players having to pay for rehabilitation themselves if they pick up injuries, they have been told that any return to training is ‘at your own risk'.

Strength and conditioning is now being done privately by players at local gyms, rather than any Warriors facilities, and it is likely that more players will seek a loan deal before their next scheduled match.
