EBBW Vale ran out of luck in the second half after leading at the break and looking capable of causing an upset at Parc Eirias.
Had Evan Lloyd’s penalty not struck the upright and bounced away the Steelmen would have regained the lead in the second half. They then lost replacement prop Ross Jones to a yellow card for a scrum infringement and very quickly conceded a penalty try as a result.
