England wing Denny Solomona charged by RFU over alleged homophobic comment

Sale back will appear in front of disciplinary panel next month over incident in match against Worcester Warriors

wing Denny Solomona will attend a hearing with the disciplinary panel on 5 April after an incident was raised in ‘s 58-25 demolition of last Saturday.
It has been alleged Solomona used words of a homophobic nature following a ruck in the 55th minute of the Aviva clash at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Worcester fly-half Jamie Shillcock approached referee Andrew Jackson before saying ‘it was a homophobic slur, sir. Twice’.
The code-convert has been charged by citing commissioner ‘conduct prejudicial to the interests of the union or the game’, with both team’s head coaches saying they were unaware any incident had taken place.
Solomona, 24, has been on the fringe of England’s plans having made his debut in last summer’s tour to Argentina, while recently being included England’s squads for their matches against , and .
