The RFU review into the 2026 Six Nations was never likely to make great reading after England lost four Championship matches for the first time since 1976.

After results like those, head coach Steve Borthwick and his coaching team can be considered lucky to keep their jobs.
All we can deduce from the Q&A is that the review panel had enough belief in the responses to let them continue through to the Nations Cup matches against South Africa, Argentina, and Fiji this summer, but not enough for them to be confirmed for the 2027 World Cup.
