LAST week’s paper, and in particular Nick Cain’s article, put a smile on my face that hasn’t moved since. The idea that there needs to be a hunt to find the next generation of props for the England national team is true and so are the the number of current limitations that Nick outlined.
Yes, there can be no doubt that the number of props in the Premiership from other countries limits the possible opportunity for young ‘home grown talent’ but nothing like the limits that surround the academy system that’s in place.
