Promoted ProD2 champions Oyonnax demonstrated – if there was still any doubt after last weekend’s impressive opening day home win over Clermont – that they do not intend just to make up numbers in the Top 14.
Sides expect to win the bulk of their games at home – victories on the road are an altogether more difficult prospect in the Top 14, even in the 2020s. But Oyonnax were a match, and more, for Stade Francais at Stade Jean Bouin for the vast majority of Friday evening.
