Alas, I couldn’t make it but I’m hearing very good reports of rugby’s latest theatrical production, a one hander by RADA graduate Scott Gutteridge – best known for roles in Doctors and Kenneth Branagh’s film Belfast – on the life and times of John Bevan the former Cardiff, Wales and Lions wing who went on to enjoy a stellar career in rugby league.
There were four performances in south Wales last week and then two this week “Up North” at the Halliwell Jones stadium, Warrington where Bevan forged a notable second career and even developed a strong Lancastrian accent at one stage.
