Such a shame I opted for German over French at school! | Shane Williams

After turning down Toulon in his playing career, Shane Williams is now hoping to be able to commentate on the Top 14 as it returns to broadcast in the UK

EVERYONE knows I had the chance to join Toulon from the Ospreys towards the end of my career.
I never did play in France, but there is no doubt they are a country on the up which is why I’m looking forward to hopefully being a part of Premier Sports’ UK coverage of the Top 14.
The only problem I might have is I didn’t do French at school.
It was German for me which hasn’t proved much use to my broadcasting career!
We saw in this season’s Champions Cup final that French rugby is a fearsome beast. La Rochelle and Toulouse both being in the final showed the Top 14 teams are the ones to beat. We...
