Darlington Mowden Park and board member Neil Morris are flying the flag for grassroots rugby and have excitedly announced a trip for Mowden Park’s U11s to visit the mighty Irish province Munster on the weekend of April 10th next month.
Hosted by Cork Constitution FC, Morris, along with 21 children, of whom will be representing 15 schools both in and around Darlington, will be given a tour of Munster rugby as well as have a chance to meet and play with the Munster U11 team, who proudly list amongst their ranks Dave O’Callaghan’s son and Simon Zebo’s daughter.
Despite being separated by the Irish sea, both Darlington Mowden Park are strongly connected in their passion for inspiring and developing the younger generation to pick up a rugby ball and try out a new sport, and perhaps one day pull on the jersey for their national team.
