WELL, that was a remarkable end to what turned out to be an utterly astonishing Six Nations, wasn’t it?
For the first three rounds, it had looked like a walk in the rugby park for Fabien Galthie’s French. They had conceded just 34 points at that stage, and scored 123 in picking up three bonus-point wins from three. A Grand Slam was, it seemed, theirs for the taking.
