So, Paul Gustard will remain at Stade Francais next season after all, despite asking to be released from the final year of his contract to join Premiership side Leicester.
Last weekend, club owner Hans-Peter Wild made it perfectly clear that bosses at Welford Road had a fight on their hands if they wanted to prise Gustard out of Stade Jean Bouin.
“The players would be very disappointed [if he left],” he said prior to watching his team beat Bayonne last weekend.
