SO the “old guard” merchants of gloom and doom or not appear to have been correct.
Those who rued not professionalism but the manner in which it was introduced in England can take no pleasure from the demise of Worcester and Wasps as Premiership clubs.
The total unsustainability of a professional sport almost totally reliant on multi-millionaire patrons, riddled with PRL vs RFU conflicts of interest and with no coherent strategy on how to keep the sport going at all levels is now apparent for all to see.
