Veall’s late try keeps Newbridge unbeaten

THE big game in Division 1 East was at Newbridge, where the home side were hoping to maintain their unbeaten run and leapfrog visiting Brynmawr into second place.
They took their time to do so, scraping home 29-25 thanks to a try from centre Simon Veall with the last play. It meant Newbridge were able to close the gap at the top to nine points with their sixth win out of six.
Brynmawr left with two bonus points after scoring four tries. They were 18-15 to the good at the break and led 25-22 until Veall’s intervention at the death. Newbridge had other tries...
