Grasshoppers slip up in pursuit of Otley

extended their lead at the top of the table following a bonus point win 33-15 win away at Lymm.

Finn Dewar and Ben McGee crossed for a brace apiece with Ben Waddington getting in for one and Joe Rowntree successful with four conversions. Lymm managed three tries, two from Rob Makin and one from Kurt Riley.

Second-placed Preston Grasshoppers slipped back after being held to a 22-22 draw away to Blackburn. Sammy Russell, Leon Simpson and Scott Richardson were try scorers for the home side with Josh Jarrold kicking two conversions. Chris Taylor and Matt Lamprey were the visitors' try scorers who also forced a penalty try. Ben Pearson chipped in with a conversion and a penalty.

Billingham edged away from close rivals Macclesfield beating the Cheshire side 32-20 at Milnthorpe Green. The visitors held a 12-15 lead at half-time through tries from Matthew Thorpe, Myles Hall, converted by Harry Oliver who also added a penalty. Alfie Lawson and Ben Walton scored Macclesfield with Job Roxby converting.

In the second period, Billingham pulled ahead as both Walton and Lawson went over for their second. Martin Hopley brought up the fifth with Roxby adding another conversion and a penalty. In a late dash to try and savage a bonus point Josh Redfern went over but a late drop-goal attempt just drifted wide.

Kirkby Lonsdale were 36-10 victors at home to Northwich. James Coutston scored a hat-trick of tries, while Harry Huddleston garbbed two with Ben Walker, George Oyston and Stu Story the try scorers. Walker landed five conversions and a penalty.

Wirral were 29-17 winners at home to Alnwick. James Annetts went in for two tries with Tom Cole and Chris Crowley over for one each. Annetts also kicked three conversions and a penalty. Hugh Todd and Sam Ecclestone were try scorers for the visitors, both converted by Evan Moir who also kicked a penalty.

York beat Sandal 52-20. Sandal scored through Austin Thompson, Oliver Fisher and Josh Handley, with Luke Punton kicking five points.

In the final game of the round Rossendale went down 25-27 at home to Burnage Anthony Bentham with the pick of the tries for Rossendale.
