Scarratt surgery strikes Lightning plans

LOUGHBOROUGH Lightning will attempt to get their season up and running against Wasps after being hit by losing Emily Scarratt to a long-term injury and a heavy defeat to Harlequins in their season opener.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the Red Roses vice-captain had suffered a broken leg that has required surgery, ruling the centre out of England’s four autumn internationals and dramatically impacting Scarratt’s preparations for next year’s rescheduled World Cup.
