Ward braced for his ring-fence challenge

DAVE Ward will end his 17-year playing career at the end of the Championship season with a new rugby ambition, a belief in the ethos of promotion and relegation and a huge respect for his final teammates at part-time Ampthill.
Pure perseverance and dogged determination turned Ward into a Premiership player.
After a total of only 17 appearances for home-town club Bath, Northampton and Sale between 2009 and 2014 he dropped down a division to join the Pirates.
