Stalemate on pay cuts ‘may kill off Welsh rugby’

WALES’ rugby players have been told the ongoing delay in reaching an agreement over permanent pay cuts could lead to the death of Welsh rugby.
The Welsh Rugby Players’ Association, the Welsh Rugby Union and the four regions - Dragons, Cardiff Blues, Scarlets and Ospreys - remain in talks over a 25 per cent reduction in player salaries.
Welsh rugby’s finances have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic and the WRU and the regions have been given no choice but to drastically cut their wage bill.
