Mulvihill rejects offer of Russian tune-up

CARDIFF Blues have turned down the chance to play Russia before the World Cup and will have only one senior friendly fixture in which to prepare for the start of the PRO14.
But that hasn’t stopped head coach John Mulvihill from setting lofty ambitions for his team.
The Japan-bound Russians were due to play arch rivals Georgia in Tbilisi on August 27, but pulled out of the fixture due to safety concerns. Georgia will instead face the Southern Kings that day.
