Knights appoint former Scotland star Smith

FORMER Scotland and Lions prop Tom Smith is the surprise choice as Doncaster’s new head coach.
The Knights had offered the job to Ceri Jones, as revealed in Blindside a fortnight ago, but the Welshman has opted to commit his future to Newport Gwent Dragons.
Ex-Quins prop Jones has been calling the shots since the Rodney Parade region sacked Bernard Jackman in December and is in the running to be his long-term successor.
Even if Jones misses out on the top job, he is still under contract as forwards coach at the Dragons for another year.
