DESPITE a solid firsthalf display, Eastern Counties were ground down and eventually overwhelmed by Lancashire at Grange Road.
The visitors had all of the early pressure and hooker Tom Burtonwood opened the scoring on seven minutes.
But Counties countered well and after a succession of breaks from Matt Hema, Albert Portsmouth and Steve Hipwell, the Diss No.8 finally forced his way over the line to tie the scores and Simon Hrbeck edged them ahead with the conversion.
