James Horwill pens new Quins deal

Harlequins have been handed a big boost with the news that former Australia captain James Horwill has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new contract.
He joined Harlequins in September 2015 from the Reds, a side he played for over 100 times and captained to the 2011 Super Rugby title.
The 31 year-old captained his country on 16 occasions and won his 62nd, and most recent Test cap, against England in June 2016.
Standing at 6ft6in and weighing 117kg, Horwill has made 33 appearances for Harlequins, scoring three tries. His leadership skills, coupled with his high work rate and lineout knowledge has become a valuable asset to the Club.
He said: “I’m excited to be able to extend my time at Harlequins, I’ve fallen in love with the place. I’ve been fortunate to be part of such a great group of guys and a great supporter base.
“I’ve been very lucky that they have opened their arms to me and my family from the get go; it’s fantastic to be able to stay a bit longer and help the group achieve some special things.”
Director of Rugby, John Kingston commented: “From the moment James joined Harlequins 18 months ago, he has shown himself to be both a world class player and an outstanding leader.”
