Richard Briggs hit with two-year ban for doping

Henley player Richard Briggs has been suspended for two years by the Rugby Football Union for an Anti-Doping violation.
The player tested positive for 19-norandrosterone (a metabolite of Nandrolone) and Oxandrolone, both Anabolic Androgenic Steroids on July 16 this year.
The player admitted to the offence and agreed to the case being heard on papers without attending in person. He will be suspended until August 9, 2015.
Briggs is the second player from the club to be banned for a doping violation after James Comben received a six-month ban last season.

Interesting, saw Henley play Taunton Titans last year, both these banned planned played and Henley were doing very well at the time scoring a lot of points, including against Taunton that day! I note they went on to win the division by 3 points….
Difficult to look at their position and the scores they were making in light of these issues and not wonder if there’s more…
