Lions winger was AAA champion

FURTHER to Rob Cole’s article on rugby’s fastest players, John Young played on the wing for England and the Lions (1959 tour) he also won a AAA sprint title, he was pretty quick recording 9.8 and 9.9 over 100 yards.
He played for Oxford Uni and was capped by England nine times. I remember him as a boy, he was a pretty formidable athlete.
I remember Ken Jones another great athlete, John Young played at a later date but was still very quick and should be mentioned as one of the fastest even by present standards!
