Bill’s bum was big hit at Twickenham

BRENDAN Gallagher’s ‘Iconic Pictures’ is a firm favourite of mine in TRP. It was only a matter of time before Erica and her Front Roe Union featured but surely it deserved mention of Steve Smith’s equally iconic remark?
As the story goes, Bill Beaumont was conducting his half-time team talk when Ms Roe ventured onto the pitch. As the England skipper wondered why the attention of his players was wavering, his scrum-half quipped “Bill, there’s a bird just run on with your bum on her chest!”
