But now O2 have developed an app to ensure that everyone can share in the experience of being at the game, no matter where they are.
The new O2 Matchday app allows users to hear a direct feed, live from the ref at England home games. With Ref!Link you can now feel what it is like to be right there in the stadium from the comfort of your own home, pub, local rugby club or anywhere else  that isn't Twickenham stadium. Feel the atmosphere within the grounds, as well as hearing every call and decision made by the man in charge on the day – the match ref.
Along with Ref!Link there are other great features on the app. There's a match programme for each of the RBS 6 Nations games, with a preview of the game, the players to watch and how the teams shape up in a head to head comparison.
During the match live stats and insightful commentary will keep your banter one step ahead of the rest. Plus there is a twitter feed bringing you all the most engaging voices known to rugby.
