CHESTER could hardly have wished for a more emphatic return to National Two North, overwhelming Wharfedale 35-7 in a five-try season-opening victory built on forward power and relentless second-half pressure.
The hosts dominated the set-piece and carried with purpose throughout. Chester’s forwards laid the foundations for tries from driven line-outs by Edward Morris and Scott Robson, while Morgan Bagshaw’s two penalties ensured they led 16-7 at half-time.
