SHEFFIELD head coach Anthony Posa demanded that his side’s record breaking season should end on a high and he was not disappointed.
Relegated Scunthorpe were no match for the champions who piled on 12 tries without reply in an end of season festival of rugby.
A hat-trick for both Chris Hooper and Elliot Fisher were a just reward for the club’s leading try scorers, with further tries for first team debutants Pierre Sewell and Henry Thourgood-Marshall.
Hooper got things moving for the hosts with an early try, cutting inside to stroll over.
A scintillating Will Smith break from inside his own half set up Callum Posa for the second. Mid-way through the half, Smith dotted down, this time Hooper the provider.
Hooper’s second try was exceptional. An ability to keep the ball alive and expert handling skills provided the unlikely score. The home side looked comfortable at 26-0at the break.
explosive 11-minute spell saw Fisher cross three times. Thourgood-Marshal then slotted in at replacement scrum-half. His first act was to move the score onto 52-0, zipping under the posts.
his third bringing up a season total of 28. Smith claimed a second before Sewell rounded things off.
