Wales legend George North decides it is the ‘right time’ to call it a day

Wales and British & Irish Lions great George North will retire at the end of the season after an injury-hit spell playing in France.

Wales and British & Irish Lions great George North will retire at the end of the season after an injury-hit spell playing in France.

North, who turned 34 this month, stepped away from international duty in 2024 having won 121 caps and scored 47 tries for his country – helping Wales win four Six Nations titles and two Grand Slams.
The powerhouse wing turned centre, who is 6ft 4in and 18st, also toured with the British & Irish Lions in 2013 and 2017, playing three Tests and scoring two tries.
