LONDON Welsh director of rugby Cai Griffiths is stepping down after an influential near nine-year spell that has helped drive the Exiles’ back into the National Leagues.
Griffiths, 42, says the decision to depart Welsh at the end of the season had not been driven by results – with Welsh enjoying a strong first season back in National 2 East and mixing it with the leading pack – but by a belief that the squad needs fresh direction.
