Worcester Warriors insist they are determined to meet their “financial business plan objectives … and be promoted to the Prem at the earliest opportunity” despite missing the deadline to apply for promotion for next season.
Just two Championship sides have formally applied for promotion to the Prem for next season – Ealing Trailfinders and Doncaster Knights.
Leaders Trailfinders – winners the past two seasons but so far barred for failing standards criteria – are unbeaten this term, while Doncaster are down in ninth.
Warriors are second ahead of Bedford Blues.
