RFU chiefs are set to alter players’ enhanced EPS contracts in the wake of Tom Willis returning to Bordeaux-Begles for next season.

Saracens No.8 Willis was handed one of the 25 deals, worth around £150,000 a year, before announcing he was heading back to the Top 14.
England boss Steve Borthwick could have picked Willis, who had a stint at Bordeaux when Wasps collapsed in 2022, for the November Tests, but opted not to as he would not be around for the next World Cup.
However, the back row kept his deal.
