NEW Zealand (population 5.33m) sounded a fanfare of trumpets over attendances for the All Blacks’ sold-out ‘blockbuster’ six home matches totaling 215,000, average a fraction below 36,000.
Wales (population 3.10m) averaged almost twice as many for their last five home matches. Total attendance: 334,011. Average: 66,802. Not bad for a winning team, out of this world for one then losing every match.
