It comes as a surprise – shock almost – to realise that it’s ten years give or take that Rugby World Cup 2015 kicked off, a tournament in which England and the RFU succeeded so spectacularly as hosts and failed so miserably as a team.

The arguments and debates from that tournament and its build up still race through the mind. For me anyway, the tournament still seems like a live, unresolved, issue, a hugely important sliding doors moment.
