Van Graan’s side got home 23-21 in a Twickenham epic against Leicester who threw every punch they had at them.
But Tigers boss Michael Cheika was fuming with referee Karl Dickson and will be reporting him to the RFU‘s head of match officials Paul Hull this week.
Van Graan’s side made it a treble, with the Premiership Cup and Challenge Cup already won this season, and the South African claimed they had achieved a near-miracle since he arrived in 2022 with the team bottom of the league.
He said: “I am going to go away and think what is next but the best is yet to come. I will set the vision and we will align as a group, champion teams are teams that win multiple times and once you taste something you want it again.
“We started this in July 2022, a club with no hope, we started to work on our hope and we moved into belief. In three years we have done the unthinkable really.
“I came here and it was quiet, people felt sorry for us and we said we are going to hang our hat on being tough to beat. The belief started to grow and it has awoken the city. This is credit to everyone at the club.”
Leicester coach Cheika, in his final game in the Premiership before he heads back down under to Australia, was livid with referee Dickson.
