Cross sparkles in Cheshire’s victory

SET-PIECE dominance, some silky play in the loose and a man-of-the-match display by replacement back-rower Stuart Cross saw Cheshire run out comfortable 29-10 winners over Northumberland at a sun-kissed Birkenhead Park.
Cross, of the host club, replaced Manchester RFC’s Charlie Green in the 25th minute and changed the complexion of the game as the north-west county set out their stool with a five-try win as last year’s losing finalists hope to go one better this year.
