Worthing………………34
Henley………………….55
WORTHING’S search for a first league win of the season continues as they were swept aside by a swashbuckling Henley side.
Spencer Hayhow was driven over twice within the opening ten minutes as Hawks well and truly laid out their intentions, and even though there was a response from Worthing’s Harrison Dakin, Henley continued to attack.
Underlining Henley’s superiority up front, Hayhow’s front-row colleague, Rory Mason, plundered over for two of his own, with Lailand Gordon and Scott White also getting in on the act before the break.
Worthing, feeding on scraps, continued to plug away – Rob Ure and Dakin both contributing to the scoreboard – but Luke Allen’s men were always in control.
And so that proved to be after the break,
Hawks clocking up another three tries.
The excellent Jamar Richardson showed pace and power to go over for a brace, and there was a score for Marcus Lowe, the number eight rewarded for a performance at the base of the scrum which gave the Hawks plenty of front-foot ball.
Ure, Frank Taggart and Jake Rutherford all scored second-half tries for Worthing, soothing the pain of defeat with a losing bonus point.
