CLOSE match-ups with local University sides are nothing particularly new. The great Coventry sides back in the day enjoyed a massive Loughborough University input while Leicester Tigers also cultivated that deep vein of Loughborough talent. Wasps at one stage resembled a Cambridge University OBs line up, well behind the scrum anyway, while Bath and Quins were courting dark blue talent.
