SUNTORY Sungoliath climbed up to second in Japan Rugby League One after beating Kobe Steelers 39-19. Ex-England head coach Eddie Jones is an advisor at Sungoliath and would have enjoyed getting one up on his old foe – Steelers director of rugby and ex-All Blacks coach Wayne Smith. In a cagey opening, flyhalves Lee Seung-Sin and Naoto Saito traded penalties before Ryoto Nakamura’s and Seiya Ozaki’s tries put the visitors 16-7 ahead at half-time.
