England’s awkward encounter

PETER JACKSON

NO Greek team can have borne quite as many gifts to a as their Rugby League lads brought to Bramall Lane the other night. The goodies kept coming at such a rate that helped themselves to 17 tries and 94 points which made Shaun Wane's reference to ‘an awkward fixture' seem strange to say the least.

If England found it awkward, imagine how the Greeks must have felt at being made to line up behind their posts once every four-anda-half minutes or so. Next time they will be sorely tempted to bring a battalion of substitutes hidden in a Trojan horse and make it that little bit more awkward.
