ANOTHER titan has departed the world of journalism with Barry Newcombe’s passing last week, a rugby man to his boots but one of the great all sporting journos who was equally at home at Wimbledon, the Olympics and serving on BOC and IRB media committees as well as a spell as a director at Hayter’s sports agency. Like many of the generation that followed Newcs, I am in his debt in many ways.
