Sharks enjoy feeding frenzy

THE Sharks ran in 27 points in the last 28 minutes to stretch away from and secure a bonus point victory in Durban.

When the Scottish side scored their second try to get within a point after 42 minutes it seemed like ‘game on', but the rampant Sharks had other ideas from the 52nd minute.

At Kings Park, it was the home side who took the lead in the 13th minute when stand-off Boeta Chamberlain kicked a penalty.

But Glasgow hit back a minute later to go ahead 7-3 when back row Tom Gordan showed good footwork and pace to go over for a try which was converted by stand-off Tom Jordan.

Warriors kept the Sharks at bay for 20 minutes but it was the South Africans who went in ahead at halftime after a second Chamberlain penalty was followed by a converted try from pacy winger Anthony Volmink for 13-7.

Warriors came out fighting after the break and a strong maul saw Gordon go over for his second try of the day two minutes after the interval. The conversion was missed leaving Warriors trailing 13-12.

The Sharks then took things up a notch and the impresssive Volmink ran in his second try in the 52nd minute before Chamberlain kicked his third penalty.

On the hour mark, the Sharks claimed a third try via replacement hooker Bongi Mbonmbi and Chamberlain added the extras to make it 28-12.

Glasgow were very much on the back foot by that point and with 12 minutes left the Sharks secured a four-try bonus point when full-back Aphelele Fassi went over. Chamberlain converted and winger Werner Kok's try at the death put the icing on the cake.
